Plastic Free September

Join the Green Earth Action Foundation this September for a month-long challenge to reduce single-use plastics and build lasting sustainable habits. Small daily actions create huge collective impact.

About the Challenge

The GEAF Plastic Free Challenge is a community-driven campaign that invites everyone to commit to reducing single-use plastics for the month of September. Through daily actions, helpful resources, and friendly accountability, we’ll turn simple behaviour changes into long-term benefits for people and the planet.

  • When: The entire month of September
  • Who: Everyone!
  • Goal: Reduce single-use plastic consumption, raise awareness, and encourage sustainable, environmentally friendly practices

Why It Matters

Plastic pollution contaminates our waterways, strains waste systems, and threatens wildlife. The problem is global, but solutions are local. By choosing reusable alternatives and supporting circular systems, we can:

  • Decrease plastic entering rivers and oceans
  • Reduce waste management pressure in local communities
  • Lower demand for single-use production, cutting emissions
  • Support responsible alternatives and local social enterprises

Every swapped straw, reusable bag, or DIY refill makes a tangible difference. When thousands of people take these steps together, we create momentum for policy change and corporate responsibility.
